Lone Ranger wasn't a BAD movie!

I went and saw The Lone Ranger on the fourth of July and thought it was a fun, crowd pleasing movie. A little long, to be sure, but still a lot of fun. My brother described it as "Pirates of the Caribbean" in the West, which I thought was an apt description. Did anyone else agree? Or was I just crazy?

I didn't think it was bad, but it wasnt a particularly good film either. Johnny Depp was basically Jack Sparrow with a crow on his head. The guy who played The Lone Ranger was kind of stiff. That's the thing, it wasn't really the Lone Ranger's movie. It was more focused on Tonto than anything else.

Still, that last train scene was awesome. And some of the effects and stuntwork were really well done. Definately not the best movie (my favorite summer movie is Pacific Rim), but way better than **** of Steel.
